STRUT ASSEMBLY
After the rafter assembly is complete and the mounting
boards are attached, verify that the band clamps are in the
proper locations. See diagram below.
1. Remove the bolts and attach a strut between the band
clamp on the interior rafter leg and the band clamp on
the end rafter leg. Position the strut so that it forms a
triangle as shown below.
NOTE:
Verify that the bolt heads are to the outside of
the shelter and that the end rafter is plumb before
tightening the band clamp bolts.
2. Install the remaining struts and tighten all band clamp
bolts.
3. Secure each band clamp to each rafter using a Tek
screw.
4. Return to each purlin joint and secure the joint using a
Tek screw if this has not been completed.
NOTE:
For some applications, the lower end of each
strut is attached directly to the mounting board using
carriage bolts and nuts supplied by the customer.

3. Continue adding boards to complete the first run.
NOTE:
Secure all splices of the mounting board
between
rafters and not on a rafter. Use a short section
of board to secure the joint where two separate boards
meet.
4. Repeat the steps to install the mounting board for the
remaining side of the building.
5. After installing the mounting board to both sides, attach
the struts to the frame.
