Only connect the device to a properly installed socket with protective earth contacts.
The socket must also be easily accessible after connecting so that the mains connec-
tion can be quickly disconnected. The mains voltage must correspond to the techni-
cal data of the device. Keep in mind that the voltages of power supplies differ from
country to country. Check whether the local power supply corresponds to the device’s
technical data. Only use proper extension cords and plug adapters, whose technical
data correspond to those of the device.

Never submerge the device in water or other liquids! Make sure that the device, the
cable or the plug are not at risk of falling in water or of getting wet. If the device falls
in water, immediately disconnect the power supply.

Never touch the device, the cable or the plug with wet hands.
❐
The steam must not be directed towards mains cords or parts containing electrical
components (e.g. oven interiors, fridges, switches and lights, microwave ovens).

Turn the device off and pull the mains plug out of the socket

if you are not using the device,
–
if a fault occurs during operation,
–
before a storm,
–
before you clean and/or stow the device.

If you wish to remove the mains plug from the socket, never pull on the mains cord,
but always on the plug.

Only use the device in enclosed areas.

Do not use the device in rooms containing easily

ammable dust or toxic and explo-
sive vapours.

Do not operate the device in very moist environment or in the vicinity of

ammable
material.

Immediately after ironing, set down the device, which is still hot, at a minimum dis-
tance of 15 cm from walls, furniture and other objects.

Check the device for damages prior to each use. If the device, the cord or the plug
exhibit visible damages, the device may not be used. Do not use the device if it mal-
functions, has fallen down or in water.

In case of damages/malfunctions, immediately turn the device off and pull the mains
plug out of the socket.

Never attempt to repair an electrical device or replace parts yourself. In the event of
defects, the device may no longer be used. Contact the nearest customer service
centre/quali
fi
ed professional or, in the event of damage, contact customer service.
Avoiding damage to materials, property and the device

Lay the cable such that it is not crushed or creased and such that it does not come
into contact with hot surfaces. Especially the power line and steam pipe from the
station to the iron must not be creased.

Only iron on a stable, level, heat and moisture resistant base. We recommend to use
a commercially-available ironing board.
