Operating instructions

1.  Plug the mains adaptor into a wall socket and then into the socket (9) on 

the speaker.

2.  Switch the speaker on by holding in the [ POWER, PLAY/PAUSE ] button until “HI” 

appears on the display.

3.  Switch the speaker off by pressing the [ POWER, PLAY/PAUSE ] button (the display 

goes off) or switch it to standby mode by pressing [ STBY ] on the remote control, 
the display shows “-- --”.

Note: 

The speaker cannot be switched on using the remote control when the display 

is off. The speaker can only be switched on using the remote control when it has 
been set to standby mode using the remote control and the display shows the symbol 
pictured above.

Connecting an external Bluetooth device

1.  Press [ MODE ] on the speaker (or [ BT ] on the remote control) until “bt” flashes on 

the display and the volume setting is displayed, e.g “03”.

2.  Activate Bluetooth on the device to be paired with the speaker.
3.  The speaker will appear on your device as 

SG-8101

, select it and pair it with your 

device.

4.  Once connection has been established, “bt” will shine steadily.
5.  Start playback on your device. Set the desired volume levels both on your device 

and the speaker. The playback can be controlled from the speaker, remote control 
or from the external device.

Note:

•  If you are prompted to enter a PIN code on your device, you should enter 

0000

 

(four zeroes). Certain devices may also require you to approve the connection.

•  If you have connected a mobile phone to the speaker via Bluetooth and receive 

a call (or make one) whilst you are listening to music, the music will be switched 
off automatically. Once the call has been ended, music playback will be resumed 
(if your phone settings enable this).

Memory card or USB memory playback

1.  Insert a memory card and/or a USB memory into the ports (1 and 2) on 

the speaker.

2.  Press [ MODE ] on the speaker (or [ USB/SD ] on the remote control) until 

the desired audio input source appears on the display. “USB” for USB memory or 
“SD” for memory card. Playback will start automatically.

3.  The playback can be controlled from the speaker or remote control.
