Motion Sensor

Art.no 32-1627

Model PIR-9822

Please read the entire instruction manual before using the product and save
it for future reference. We apologise for any text or photographic errors and
any changes of technical data. If you have any questions concerning technical
problems please contact our Customer Service Department.

Connector block

DC12V

Connect the voltage unit’s (usually from the alarm control box, 9 to 16 V DC)
plus cable to the connection marked “+” and the minus cable to the connection
marked “-”.

TAMPER N.C.

“TAMPER” indicates that it is a sabotage safety switch and “N.C.” that an alarm
goes off when the circuit is cut. If the sabotage safety switch will be used,
the connection TAMPER shall be connected to a 24 hour N.C input on the alarm
control box. When the detector is dismantled or destroyed the switch goes off
and the alarm trips.

RELAY O.P.

This output is controlled by the PIR sensor. It is normally closed (N.C) and will be
connected to a N.C input on the alarm control box. When the detector detects
a movement it cuts the connection. The alarm jumper (O/P SELECT) can be used
to change the output from normally closed (N.C) to normally opened (N.O).

Jumper settings

LED ON

Activates the LED. Lights up with a firm light in

the alarm position but flashes during start.

 OFF

The LED is always off. Does not affect the alarm function.

PULSE NORMAL

  Standard mode for calm environments.

 HARSH

Pulse controlled mode for working within 10 seconds.

For environments with sources of interference.

O/P SELEC.  N.C.

The alarm output is normally closed.

 N.O.

The alarm output is normally open.

LEDs

LED 1:

Turn on at detection on top channel.

LED 2:

Turn on at detection on bottom channel.

LED 3:

Lit up in alarm position. Flashes during delayed start.

Pyro sensors

The detector is equipped with two pyro sensors for registering of moves.

Note:

The pyro sensors must not be touched!

Scale for vertical setting

The height of the circuit board can be adjusted by loosening the fastening screw.
This changes the detection angle and could prevent the alarm being triggered by
small animals.

Installation

A. Pick a spot for mounting

•

The detector can be mounted on a flat surface, a corner or with the included
bracket. Make sure the detector is mounted on a solid surface.

•

The detector should be mounted indoors on a spot which does not have
openings towards the outdoor environment.

•

Do not mount the detector in a spot where it is exposed to hot or cold air.

•

Avoid pointing the detector towards heating, cooling, or ventilation devices.
Also avoid pointing it towards metal walls, curtains, fridges or other surfaces
that may switch temperature quickly.

•

Avoid placing larger objects in front of the detector. It can change
the detecting area’s surface or volume.

•

Pick mounting spot so the detecting range is in a 45 degrees angle towards
a possible thief. Mounting in corners is recommended.

•

The mounting height should be 2 to 3 metres.

D. Mounting the back cover

The back cover is prepared for mounting on a flat surface, a corner or with
the included bracket.
1.  Open a cable hole on the back cover for pulling the connection cables.
2.  The mounting holes on the back of the cover are for mounting on a plane

surface while the holes on the sides are for mounting in corners.

3.  Mount the detector’s back cover on the spot you have chosen.
4.  The detector can also be mounted on the included bracket. The detector can

then be turned to the right position for best detection.

E. Wiring

1.  Put the circuit board back in the back cover and lock it in place with the screws.
2.  Connect the wires to the connecting block according to fig.
3.  Put the front cover back. Make sure the sabotage safety switch is pushed in

when the front cover is put back.

Testing the PIR sensor

A test can be performed after the IR detector has finished its delayed start (the LED
flashes after start) to test the detector’s area of supervision.
1.  Let the alarm start properly (the LED changes to firm light).
2.  In position “NORMAL” the alarm will go off when both the top and bottom

channel react simultaneously.

3.  In position “HARSH” it is required that both the top and bottom channel react

twice within 10 seconds for the alarm to go off.

4.  The detection area’s size and vertical angle is adjusted by moving the circuit

board up or down for best reception.
