6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning
The plastic surfaces and taps should only be wiped with a damp cloth. Do not use
abrasive or chlorine-based cleaning agents or solvents.
Do not clean the undersink unit and tap with a water jet, as that could damage the
electronic components.

Bottle Replacement
If the carbon dioxide gas bottle is empty, replace it as follows:
1. Close the red lever on the pressure reducer
2. Turn the pressure adjusting screw on the pressure reducer anticlockwise as far as it
will go (no pressure).
3. Replacing the carbon dioxide gas bottles:
a. Gas bottle with self closing valve:
- Unscrew the gas bottle from the pressure reducer.
- Quickly screw the new, full gas bottle into the pressure reducer, as far as it will
go.
- Secure the new gas bottle in place on the holder so that it cannot topple over.
b. Gas bottle with hand wheel:
- Close the shut-off valve on the gas bottle.
- Undo the union nut connecting the gas bottle to the pressure reducer.
- Remove the gas bottle and secure the new gas bottle in place on the holder so
that it cannot topple over.
- Connect the pressure reducer to the new, full gas bottle. Tighten the union nut
moderately tight.
4. Set a delivery pressure of 2.7 bar on the pressure reducer of the carbon dioxide
gas bottle. Turn the adjusting screw anticlockwise to reduce the pressure. Turn it
clockwise to increase the pressure.
5. Open the red lever on the pressure reducer
6. Check the gas-carrying connections for leaks. Caution - gas released can be very
cold. Use a leak detecting spray or soapy water so that even minor leaks will be
detected.
Please note that the room where a carbon dioxide gas bottle is placed must
have a minimum room volume of 38 m
3
for every kg of bottle capacity.
Note: The carbon dioxide gas bottle must always be used in the upright position
to ensure that the pressure reducer operates correctly and thus ensure the safety
of the unit.
Note: The carbon dioxide gas bottle must not be exposed to temperatures higher
than 35 °C. Cooling should be provided if necessary.
