alve is a main valve for
CIa-V

Automatic Control V
alves. It is a hydraulically operated,
diaphragm-actuated, globe or angle pattern valve.
This valve consists of three major components; body
, diaphragm
assembly
, and cover
.
The diaphragm assembly is the only
moving part.
The diaphragm assembly uses a diaphragm of nylon
fabric bonded with synthetic rubber
.
A
synthetic rubber disc,
contained on three and one half sides by a disc retainer and disc
guide, forms a seal with the valve seat when pressure is applied
above the diaphragm.
The diaphragm assembly forms a sealed
chamber in the upper portion of the valve, separating operating
pressure from line pressure.

The CIa-V
aI Model 100-20 Hytrol V
alve (600 Series main valve)
have only one part -the body- that is dif
ferent from standard 100
Series Cla-V
al main valve parts.
The remaining parts of the 600
series main valve are standard Cla-V
al main valve parts.
All serv-
ice and maintenance information for the standard 100 Series
main valves also apply to the 600 series main valves.
The most important thing to remember when ordering main
valve repair kits and replacement parts, except for the body
, all
other parts are going to be for a smaller size main valve. Cla-
V
al identifies main valve parts with the flange size of the stan-
dard 100 Series main valve. Refer to the "Main V
alve Sizes”
