You do not have to shut down or power off the server to replace drives because they are hot-pluggable.

Tip

Procedure

Step 1

Remove the drive:

a) Press the drive tray release button. The release lever pops up.
b) Pull the ejector lever to disengage and remove the drive from the bay.

Step 2

Install a new drive:

a) With the ejector lever open, insert the drive into the empty drive bay.
b) Push the tray into the bay until it touches the backplane, and then close the ejector lever to lock the drive

in place.

Fan Module Replacement
