Disassembly, Inspection & Reassembly

216 Series Twin-Screw Pump -

Installation, Operation, and Maintenance Manual

15. Install gaskets (439) onto the pump casing (350).

16. Install the subassembly of screw shafts (100) and cover DF (401) into the pump casing

(350) and liner (352). Temporarily secure cover DF (401) to the pump casing (350) with

screws (310).

17. Working with cover D (407) press in bearings (103)

18. Install oil seals (721) into covers (494).

19. Install covers (494) and screw (471) into cover D (407). Secure screws (471) with

Loctite® 243 or equivalent. Install the stationary portion of mechanical seal (702) into

covers 494.

20. Install cover D (407) onto pump casing (350) and secure with screws (309). Verify

that the screw shafts turn freely without binding or tight spots.

21. Remove temporarily installed screws (310) from cover DF (401)

22. Press oil seal (704) into gear housing (706)

23. Install gasket (440). Install gear housing (406) and secure with screws (310).

24. Close the gear housing (406) drain port using plug (443) and sealing washer (479).

25. Fill the gear housing (406) with the correct oil to the center of the sight glass and close

the filling port.

26. Close all support threads or bores with permanent plugs.

27. Check for oil leaks and correct oil levels.
