3. Slot the filter insert into the lower part of the espresso maker so that
this can also be decalcified.
4. Remove the sieve from the upper part and place it in a separate
receptacle containing the solution you are using.
5. Leave everything to stand for as long as it takes for the lime scale to
be completely removed.
6. Pour off part of the solution found in the lower part so that the valve
is no longer under water. Then re-assemble your espresso maker as
prescribed and (without adding any coffee powder) bring the
solution in the espresso maker to the boil once or twice.
7. Afterwards, thoroughly clean the espresso maker once again as
described above.
It is vital that the safety valve especially should come into contact with
the decalcifying agent for several minutes on end. The safety valve
must be free of lime scale for it to work properly.
