Operational behaviour

Checking the operational readiness

Now disconnect the UPS from the mains supply in order to check the mains backup
function.

If functioning properly and if batteries are charged, a signal tone should be
audible in 4-second intervals. The "MAINS" LED (mains voltage) extin-
guishes. If the pause between the signal tones shortens to 1 second, the
UPS can continue to provide power for a maximum of 3 minutes before it
automatically shuts down.

Your computer system is powered by the batteries up until the end of the
backup time. If this is not the case, refer to chapter “Troubleshooting” on
page GB - 37.

Reconnect the UPS to mains.

Your UPS is now again ready for operation. Note that the batteries must be
recharged before the full backup time is again available.

Automatic test

Lamp test

While the device is connected to mains, press the

button for at least 1 second in

order to switch the device to bypass operation.

Notice
The supplied load is not protected from mains disturbances in this
operating mode!

The input is confirmed by a single acoustical signal.

Then press the

button for at least 1 second in order to switch the device back to

online operation.

The elements of the "BATTERY" LED strip indicate the corresponding
charging state of the battery. The "MAINS" and "INVERTER" indicators illu-
minate.
