To change the batteries in your scooter, you may need:
Phillips screwdriver, Allen key, Metric socket set and ratchet, Adjustable wrench.
1.Remove the seat by lifting it straight up and off of the scooter. If you encounter resistance
when removing the seat, disengage the seat rotation lever (
Figure 4.b
)and swivel the seat
back and forth while lifting up on the seat.
2. Jacking up the scooter under the floor-board for about 10 inches(254mm).Remove both
bolts for the spring(

). The rear section(

) will move down to the
ground(
Figure 13.b
).
3. Remove the battery shroud by removing the three (3) screws that secure it to the base
and frame, and then lifting the shroud straight up and off of the scooter (
Figure 13.b
).
4. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery terminals by sliding back the terminal
boots and unscrewing the nut from the bolt(
Figure 12.a
).
5. Remove the old batteries from the battery wells.
6. Place a new battery in each battery well. Face the battery terminals of each battery away
from the seat post(

7. Connect the red battery cable to the positive (+) battery terminals on each battery(
Figure

).
8. Connect the black battery cable to the negative (-) battery terminals on each
battery(
Figure 13.c
).
9. Reposition the terminal boots over the battery terminals.
10. Reinstall the battery shroud and the springs.
NOTE: If you encounter a damaged or cracked battery, immediately enclose it in a plastic bag.
Contact your local waste disposal agency or your authorized ChiefRider Provider for instructions
on disposal and battery recycling, which is our recommended course of action.
