replacing the Carbon Brushes
It may become necessary at sometime to replace or clean the two Carbon Brush-

If either Carbon Brush is worn more than halfway, replace both Carbon Brushes.

If the Carbon Brushes are just dirty, however, they may be cleaned by rubbing
them with a pencil eraser. If cleaning used brushes, try to install them in the
same holders and orientation as when they were removed.
