12.
CAUTION! Always turn the Voltage Select Switch (part #3) to its 12 Volt DC
setting when recharging the Batteries (part #13).
13.
To charge the Batteries (part #13) using the 12 Volt DC Cigarette Lighter Re-
charger (part #9), insert the 12 DC Cigarette Lighter Plug into the cigarette
lighter receptacle on your vehicle/boat. Then, insert the small jack at the other
end of the 12 Volt DC Cigarette Lighter Recharger into the Socket located on the
front of the Power Station. (See Figure D.)
14.
The red LED (part #7) will illuminate to indicate charging is in process.
(See Figure D.)
15.
Press the red Battery Test Button (part 5). The Volt Meter (part #4) will indicate
the Batteries’ charge status. NOTE: A built-in safety device prevents overcharg-
ing. (See Figure C.)
16.
Continue to charge until the red LED (part #7) goes out, or the Volt Meter
(part #4) registers 14V or more when the Battery Test Button (part #5) is pressed.
(See Figure C.)
17.
NOTE: This recharging method will not recharge the system to the same
14V or above DC voltage level as will plugging the Power Station into the
120 Volt AC Charger (part #10). It is recommended to use the 12 Volt DC
Cigarette Lighter Recharger (part #9) only when it is necessary. Continued
use of the 12 Volt DC Cigarette Lighter Recharger may shorten the system’s
life.
