Transport Stream is a media format or a container. It may contain multiple streams of audio & video content
working together in the transport stream. Transport streams are designed with synchronization and recovery in
mind for lossy distribution found in antenna or ATSC broadcasting in order to continue a media stream without
loss in transmission. When an over-the-air ATSC signal is captured to a file, this is referred to as Transport
Stream format.
