RECEIVING NEW CHAIRS
CAUTION:
New chair inspection must be done by someone who understands the
instruction pages. Improper operation of the chair may damage the chair and void
your warranty.
It is important to realize that signing the Bill of Lading upon receipt of new product is confirmation
not only that the product that has been received is in the proper amount, but also that it has been
received in satisfactory condition. Once the Bill of Lading is signed there is generally no recourse
against the shipping agent for shipping damage. You have the right to make the driver wait while
you examine the product. Please take advantage of this right. Carefully cut the plastic banding
that secures the packaging; scissors do this safely. Remove the packaging from the chair, lift the
top lid from the tube and remove the tube from the bottom lid. Remove the plastic bag from the
product. Cut straps that secure the casters, unlock the casters and remove the chair from the
packaging.
Depending on how you chose to receive your new product when you placed your order; your
chairs may arrive fully assembled or require some assembly. (If your product is fully assembled;
skip ahead to page 6 “New Chair Inspection”, operating all functions and options). If your product
requires some assembly, please continue with this page.
If you ordered your chair with KD (Knocked Down) packaging assembly is required.
Tools needed:
Two 7/16” wrenches.
It is very important to fully assemble the chair so that, in addition to examining the vinyl surfaces,
you may operate the chair through all of the recline functions and operate all the chair’s options
including trendelenburg to ensure that your product is in the same flawless condition in which it
left the factory.
To complete the assembly of a chair that was shipped partly assembled, remove the back
assembly from its position on top of the chair’s base. Identify the back of the base assembly.
Locate the black metal uprights of the mechanism between the arms, along both sides of the base
at the back.
Look at the bottom of the back pillow assembly along each side for the black metal bayonet
mounts which will slide onto the uprights of the mechanism. (Fig. 1 – following page) The back
assembly should be placed front face down on the base assembly with the bottom end toward the
back of the chair frame. Remove the middle bolt on each side of the bayonet mount. Raise the
back assembly placing the bayonet mount on the metal uprights of the base. Once the back is
secure on the base, replace the middle bolt and tighten with your wrenches.
WARNING: Once the back has been assembled, pull upward on the back assembly
to verify it has locked securely in place. If the back rises up, repair the assembly;
using the procedure above.
