• The skateboard is not suitable as a means of transport and should not be
used on public roads. Use on roads and cycle paths is prohibited in most
countries. Check and observe the laws and regulations that apply in your
country.
• Riding a skateboard can cause serious injuries - often bone fractures due
to clumsy falls. It is therefore advisable to practise falling.
• Before jumping off the skateboard, check where it can roll to: it could
injure others.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR DRIVING
Position on the board
For the position the feet on the board are the most important. At the
beginning, place one foot on the board in the direction of travel at the level
of the front wheels and put weight on this foot. As soon as you are standing
securely on the front foot, place the second foot diagonally at the height of
the rear axle. Keep the weight on the front foot, so that the main load is on this
foot. If you want to get off the board, go out to the front and put the back leg of
the skateboard on the ground first.
The beginning
First move on the board so that you feel a secure hold. Try to use your weight
to steer the board left and right. The movement comes from the legs, the upper
body remains upright. In order to gain speed, push off with your back foot and
as soon as you are fast enough, put it back on the same level as the rear axle.
Come to a halt again
Do not give too much speed at the beginning, but try braking at very slow
speeds. You can just take the rear foot and instead of accelerating and pushing
off you can use the movement to slow down.
Taking curves
You can steer the skateboard by shifting your weight as already written. You
can adjust the ease of steering by using the king pin screw under the front
of the board. Be careful not to overtighten the king pin lock nut. To make the
curves steeper you have to bend deeper and shift the weight further.
