4-6 Award Flash Utility

It is highly recommended that you make a back up copy of the old BIOS
before installing the new version. In case the new version is not
functional, you may reinstall the old copy. See the next page for backup
instructions.

Your system is equipped with a Flash ROM which allows users to update the BIOS
to a newer version without changing components. We suggest that you update
BIOS using the following method--Obtain an updated version of BIOS from your
mainboard vendor. In the Windows 95 or DOS environments, copy the following
two programs to a formatted, bootable disk.

A) The new version of BIOS (this is a ".bin" file).

B) The Award Flash Utility located in the enclosed CD-ROM's root directory

D:\FLASH\AWDFLASH.EXE (assume D is CD-ROM Drive).

Follow the instructions below to complete the BIOS upgrade.

1. Insert the disk prepared above into the floppy disk drive.

2. Type "A(or B):\AWDFLASH" at DOS command line and press

[Enter] key.

3. You will see the setup screen as shown below.

4. Please key in BIOS file name. (The filename will be released from

your dealer when a new up-dated BIOS is released).
