LIGHTING THE APPLIANCE
WARNING:
If at anytime during the igniting process, or during use, you smell gas,
immediately turn off the gas supply to the appliance at both the burner Control
Knobs and the shut off valve and do not use the appliance until it has been
checked for gas leaks. It is preferable that this be done by a qualified gas service
technician
1. Open all gas supply valves.
2. If Pilot is not visible, move rock from Front RH corner.
3. Depress and hold down the black-capped button (bCb).
4. Push ignitor button.
5. Check that pilot burner ignites.
6. If not alight, push again until pilot ignites.
7. Once alight, hold bCb down for 20 seconds then release pilot burner will
remain alight.
8. Turn control knob 1 on High
9. Turn on knobs 2, 3, 4 on High in sequence.
10. After use, turn off all control knobs and valve on gas bottle, including
shut-off valve (if installed).

It may be necessary to push the ignitor button several times especially after
changing a cylinder.
•
Should your braai not light after repeated attempts, have the unit examined
by a qualified technician.
