Connection via RS232
The
NE
MESYS XL module provides a standard 9-pin D-Sub socket as RS232
interface.
At the XL module, PIN 2 is the OUT port; it must be connected with IN of
the PC's RS232 interface (normally also PIN2).
The IN port is at PIN 3 and must be connected with the PC's OUT
(normally also PIN 3).
The GROUND is at PIN 5 of the module – again, the same as the standard
on a PC's RS232.
The
NE
MESYS XL module may be connected to a PC via a conventional RS232
cable; the module should be switched off and the power supply interrupted to
do this. After the connection has been established, the module may be
reconnected with power and is ready to communicate via RS232.
As every
NE
MESYS module contains the RS232 gateway, all connected modules
may be controlled via only one RS232 cable connection.
The following communication settings should be used for the serial connection,
whether at your PC or at another controller:
