Grinding Wheels
The grinding wheels are pre-
assembled on the grinder. Remove
them and perform a Ring Test before
first use as described in the following
sections, then re-install the Wheels.
replacing Dry Grinding Wheel (59)
Remove three Screws (51), Nuts
1.
(52) and Toothed Washers (13) from
Cover (53), then remove the Cover.
While wearing heavy duty work
2.
gloves, hold onto the Wheel with
one hand and remove the Nut
(55) from the motor shaft, turning
counterclockwise.
Remove the outer Flange (56) and
3.
the wheel.
Place the new Wheel over the Inner
4.
Flange (57). Slide the Outer Flange
onto the Spindle and the Wheel.
Thread the Nut (55) clockwise onto
5.
the Rotor Shaft and tighten in place
while holding the Wheel.
Stand clear of the Wheel and run the
6.
new Wheel with no load for about 10
minutes to verify the integrity of the
new Wheel (See Turning the Grinder
On and Off - page 10).
replacing Wet Grinding Wheel (9)
Remove the three Screws (19) and

Toothed Washers (20) from the Water
Reservoir (22) and remove the Water
Reservoir from the unit.
Hold onto the Wheel with one hand

and remove the Nut (11) from the
Gear Shaft (2).
Remove the Washer (7), Flange (10)
3.
and Wheel (9).
Slide the new Wheel, outer Flange
4.
(10), and Washer (7) onto the Gear
Shaft.
Thread the Nut (11) onto the end of

the Gear Shaft and turn until snug.
Run the Wheel with no load (and no

water) for about 10 minutes to verify
the integrity of the new Wheel (See
Turning the Grinder On and Off -
page 10).

Closely inspect the Grinding Wheel

on the wheel as follows:

Tap the flat side of the wheel with a
light non-metallic object, such as a
screwdriver handle, at a point 45°
from the vertical center line on each
side of the wheel and 1 – 2 inches
from the edge of the wheel - See
Fig. 2.
