1. DISPLAY - BACKLIT LCD
1.A. LARGE DISPLAY DIGITS
Displays the GROUP and CHANNEL number or Frequency.
Other settings will display by using the UP, DOWN and SET buttons.
1.B. RF LEVEL METER
The RF (Radio Frequency) level bars display the strength of the carrier
signal received from the UX600M mic or UX600B beltpack transmitter.
1.C. AF LEVEL METER
The AF (Audio Frequency) level bars display the audio signal level from the UX600M mic or UX600B beltpack transmitter.
1.D. LOCK INDICATOR
Indicates the LOCK feature is being used, which prevents accidental changes to settings or unwanted tampering.
1.E. BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR
Remotely displays the battery level of the UX600M mic or UX600B beltpack.
2. DOWN, UP AND SET BUTTONS
Press the DOWN button to display SQUELCH setting. Press the UP button to display the audio output LEVEL.
Press and hold the SET button to access the settings menu and change settings with the UP/DOWN buttons. See CHANGING SETTINGS below.
3. ANTENNA
The antenna is flexable and non-removable. Altering the antenna will cause poor reception, and will void the warranty.
1. Use fresh alkaline batteries, or fully charged rechargeables. Transmitter battery level is displayed on both reciever and transmitter.
2. If using more than one system, use the GROUP-CHANNEL assignments instead of the Frequency setting to avoid cross-talk or other interference.
3. Position the receiver so that it has the fewest possible obstruction between it and the normal location of the transmitter. Line-of-sight is best.
4. The transmitter and receiver should be as close together as conveniently possible.
5. The receiver antenna should be in the open and away from any metal structures or cement walls.
6. Turn off the transmitter when not in use. Remove the batteries if the transmitter is not used for a period of time.
TIPS TO OBTAIN THE BEST WIRELESS RESULTS
IMPORTANT RF OPERATION NOTES
Please note that wireless audio frequencies are shared with other wireless services:
According to Federal Communications Commission regulations, “Wireless microphone operations are unprotected from interference from other licensed operations within the
band. If any interference is received by any Government operation, the wireless microphone must cease operation…”
If you encounter receiving interference (from other than an operating TV station), often it can be eliminated by changing to a different channel or frequency.

CHANGING SETTINGS:
Press and hold the SET button until “
SETUP
” is displayed. The setting to be edited will be blinking. Press the SET button again to select a different setting to edit.
Adjust the setting with the UP/DOWN buttons. Press the SET button again to save and exit.
GROUP and CHANNEL: (example:
1- 8
; group 1, channel 8)
Set these the same on the transmitter and receiver. If using more than one system, each transmitter-receiver pair must bet set to a different group-channel.
FREQUENCY: (example:
530.950
) and the “
MHZ”
symbol appears on the screen. The first 3 digits change in 1 MHz steps, the second 3 digits change in 0.025 MHz steps.
The displays the specific carrier frequency of the channel in MegaHertz.
If you need to choose a specific FREQUENCY setting make an adjustment here, otherwise the Group-Channel setting is recommended.
*NOTE: The GROUP-CHANNEL method is recommended when using multiple systems to avoid crosstalk or other types of interference between wireless channels, even frequen-
cies which are far apart can cause unwanted effects due to harmonics or additions and subtractions in carrier signal waves.
The GROUP-CHANNEL frequency assignments are pre-calculated and designed to avoid these types of interferences between multiple systems, and are easier to set up.
SCAN: (
SC On, SC Off
) The SCAN feature can locate and set an open RF channel that is not being used in the area.
To use the SCAN feature, first check that the UX600R receiver’s SCAN is setting is ON.
Turn ON all transmitters you will be using in this area.
Access the Channel setting, and press the UP or DOWN button. The display will read “SCAN__” for a few seconds. The next available open channel will be set and displayed.
Match the UX600M or UX600B transmitter to this Group and Channel.
- If the Group-Channel settings on the transmitter and receiver are matched but there is still no sound; check the levels on the host mixer, the SQUELCH setting on the UX600R
receiver and the RF POWER setting on the UX600M or UX600B transmitter.
SQUELCH: (example:
Sq -5
) range of -5 to +10. The SQUELCH setting is used to reduce interference by rejecting background RF signals that fall below the SQUELCH level.
Increasing the SQUELCH setting will increase the level of RF signal required to pass an audio signal through the receiver.
Setting the SQUELCH too high may cause intermittent sound from your transmitter. In this case lower the SQUELCH, or if you are still experiencing interference you can set the
UX600M or UX600B transmitter RF POWER setting to “
rF Hi”
.
LEVEL: (example:
0 dB
) range of -18dB to +6dB, in 1 dB steps. Sets the output level of the receiver to feed the mixer channel.
You can adjust this to blend with signals coming in through the jacks of your mixer on the same channel.
SCREEN LOCK: (
Loc OFF, Loc ON
): Set to “Loc ON” to prevent accidental changes or tampering. If set to Loc ON, only the Lock screen setting will be accessable.
