INSTALLATION
There are 5 steps to install the thermostat:
Step 1 — Power Off HVAC Equipment
Step 2 — Remove Existing Thermostat
Step 3 — Install the Wi- Fi Thermostat
Step 4 — Connect the Wiring
Step 5 — Power On HVAC Equipment
Step 1. Power Off HVAC Equipment
1. Before disconnecting the existing thermostat, or installing the
Comfort Series Wi- Fi Thermostat, disconnect the power to the
heating and air conditioning equipment.
a. You can do this either at your circuit breaker box or a switch
at your indoor furnace or fan coil.
b. Most systems have one switch, but some systems will have
two switches.
2. Make sure your system is without power by using your old ther-
mostat to adjust the temperature. Your system should not turn on.
Step 2. Remove Existing Thermostat
Using your old thermostat as a guide, record wire color and
corresponding letter where it is connected on the thermostat terminal
block. Don’t worry about any non- connected wires.
Also note if there is a jumper wire or bracket between Rh, Rc, or R. If
yes, you will need to jumper these terminals on your new thermostat as
well.
Disconnect the wires to the existing thermostat and remove it from the
wall.
Tip:
Take a photo of your old thermostat wiring with your smartphone
for reference later
