Step 6 — 

Wire Field Power Supply

All field wiring must comply with local and national fire, safety

and  electrical  codes.  Power  to  the  unit  must  be  within  the

operating  voltage  range  indicated  on  the  unit’s  nameplate.  On

three phase units, phases must be balanced within 2%.

Properly  sized  fuse  or  HACR  (heating,  air-conditioning,  and

refrigeration) circuit breakers must be installed for branch circuit

protection. See equipment rating plate for maximum size. 

The  unit is supplied  with an opening for attaching conduit. Be

certain to connect the ground lead to the ground lug in the control

box.  Connect  the  power  leads  as  indicated  on  the  unit  wiring

diagram. See Table 4 and Fig. 8-16.

WARNING

To avoid possible injury or death due to electrical shock, open

the power supply disconnect switch and secure it in an open

position during installation. Install lockout tag.

CAUTION

Use  only  copper  conductors  for  field-installed  electrical

wiring. Unit terminals are not designed to accept other types

of  conductors.  Failure  to  heed  this  warning  could  result  in

equipment damage.
