User calibration– main controller
The controller uses dual point calibration at two temperatures for more accurate
temperature control. The calibration parameters are Offset low and Offset High.
Recommended settings for the two points are 800°C and 1400°C but these are adjustable.
Positive or negative offsets may be used, determined by calibration of the thermocouple and
controller.
Thermocouple calibration
The thermocouple must be removed from the MRF 16/22 and calibrated by comparison
using a calibrated heat source.
Controller calibration
The controller and thermocouple connection cables must be calibrated by injecting milli-
volts down the thermocouple cables into the controller from a calibrated source.
To enter dual calibration points and offsets in to the controller

First access level 2 of the controller. From the home display:
Press and hold page
for 3 seconds to get to the level access page.
Press up
S
to select level 2.
The display will change to read ‘Access pass code’.
Press up
S
to select code number 9.
If the correct password is entered, the display shows ‘Pass’.
The display will now automatically go back to the home page. It will now be in level 2. From
the home display:
Press page

to set the Low Point temperature.

to set the low Offset.

to set the High point temperature.
Press scroll

To exit level 2 and return to level 1:
Press and hold page
for 3 seconds to get to the level access page.
Press down

to select level 1.
The display will now automatically go back to level 1 home page.
