Note: If you prefer to turn off the entire system every day, then allow at least 30 minutes

for system warm up before performing any calibration procedures or making any
measurements.

While performing any Quality Assurance test, ensure the following:

•

Consistent placement of the radioactive standard source in the detector is critical.

The source should not be leaning against the sides.

•

Keep background rates constant throughout the counting process by ensuring that no

radioactive sources or other dosed patients are in the immediate area.

Note: Perform all the needed QA procedures for one detector and then, repeat the

same for the second detector, if applicable.

3.

Record Keeping

– After the system is setup and all the QA Tests have been completed

successfully, it is recommended that a list be printed of the system parameters for your
records (Refer to the

VIEWING AND PRINTING HISTORY

section on page 5-22). These

are all the default values used while doing various measurements (Thyroid Uptake,
Bioassay, Wipe Test etc.). In case of suspicious results in any module, confirm the Setup
values in that module with the values in your records. All QA results are stored
automatically and may be accessed at any time (Refer to the

VIEWING AND PRINTING

section on page 5-24).
