Anschließen der Lautsprecher
Wichtig! Bevor Sie die Lautsprecher an Ihren Verstärker anschlie-
ßen, schalten Sie diesen bitte aus.
Auf der Rückseite Ihrer Canton-Lautsprecher finden Sie das An-
schlussterminal. Über dieses Terminal wird Ihr Canton-Lautsprecher
mit dem Verstärker verbunden.
Achten Sie beim Anschluss der Lautsprecher unbedingt auf die rich-
tige Polung. Plus an Plus und Minus an Minus. Sowohl die Schraub-
klemmen der Lautsprecher (Pluspol = rot, Minuspol = schwarz) als
auch die Anschlüsse des Steuergerätes sind mit entsprechenden
Symbolen bzw. Farben gekennzeichnet. Zur einfacheren Orientie-
rung unterscheiden sich auch die Adern der meisten Lautsprecherka-
bel durch Farbe, Form oder Aufdruck.
Unterschiedliche Polung zwischen dem linken und dem rechten
Kanal führen zu Klangverfälschungen.
Zum besseren Verständnis ziehen Sie bitte auch die Bedienungsanlei-
tung Ihres Steuergerätes zurate.
Connecting the speakers
Important! Switch-off your amplifier before connecting the speakers
to it.
You will find the connector terminal on the rear of your Canton
speakers. This terminal is provided for connecting the Canton
speakers to the amplifier.
Important! Make sure that the polarity is correct. Plus to plus and
minus to minus. In order to make it easier to distinguish plus (+)
from minus (-) the screwclamps on the back of the loud-speaker
(plus = red, minus = black) as well as the screwclamps of your am-
plifier or receiver differ in color or are marked with a symbol. Also
the two conductors of the loudspeaker cable differ in color, form or
marking.
Different polarity between the left and the right channel lead to
sound falsifications.
For a better understanding please check the operating instructions
of your controller.
Running-in period
To reach its maximum efficiency a loudspeaker needs a running-in
period of approx. 15-20 operation hours. In this time the charac-
teristics of all mechanical parts change until they reach the values
specified during the development of the loudspeaker, i.e. the
suspension of the chassis is affected more mobile and the rendition
quality positively.
Einspielphase
Um seine maximale Leistungsfähigkeit zu entwickeln benötigt ein
Lautsprecher eine Einlaufzeit von ca. 15-20 Betriebsstunden. In die-
ser Zeit verändern sich die Eigenschaften aller mechanischen Bauteile
bis sie die bei der Entwicklung des Lautsprechers festgelegten Werte
erfüllt, d. h. die Aufhängung der Chassis wird beweglicher und die
Wiedergabequalität positiv beeinflusst.
General instructions for operation
Canton loudspeakers are suitable for operation with amplifiers
producing large power output, even if the amplifier power output is
greater than the load ratings specified in the technical data for the
Canton loudspeakers. Infact, loudspeakers are more endangered by
amplifiers with weak output power because the so-called „clipping
distortion“ they produce when attempting to produce more sound
pressure by turning-up the volume and tone controls boosts the
mean power especially in the tweeters of the speaker boxes and
may destroy the tweeters. Therefore please pay attention not to set
volume levels leading to distortion – turn down the volume level
directly when necessary.
CAUTION: Floorstanding speakers have a high center of gravity and
may become unstable if rocked or improperly positioned. Customer
is responsible to prevent any accident.
Allgemeine Betriebshinweise
Canton-Lautsprecher sind für den Betrieb an Verstärkern mit großer
Ausgangsleistung geeignet, selbst wenn diese höher ist als die in den
technischen Daten des Canton-Lautsprechers angegebene Belast-
barkeit. Tatsächlich geht eine Gefahr für den Lautsprecher eher von
leistungsschwachen Verstärken aus, da sie bei dem Versuch, durch
Aufdrehen von Lautstärke- und Klangreglern mehr Schalldruck zu
erzeugen, übersteuert werden und durch sogenanntes „Clipping“
Verzerrungen erzeugen, die insbesondere die Hochtöner der Laut-
sprecher zerstören können. Bitte achten Sie deshalb bei der Laut-
stärkeeinstellung auf Verzerrungen – und drehen Sie gegebenenfalls
direkt leiser.
ACHTUNG: Standlautsprecher haben einen hohen Schwerpunkt und
können bei unsachgemässer Aufstellung oder ruckartigen Bewegun-
gen leicht umfallen. Dies zu vermeiden liegt im Verantwortungsbe-
reich des Käufers.
