Main cause

The communication between the trimmer CPU and the finisher CPU is
faulty.
• The trimmer does not respond to the finisher within a specific period of

time, after the finisher sends a command to the trimmer.

Method of
detection

• No response signal from the trimmer is detected within a specific period

of time (2 sec) after the finisher sends a command to the trimmer (detec-
tion on the finisher side).

Action to
take

1. Turn off and on the trimmer (i.e., disconnect and connector the power

cable).

2. Turn off and on the host machine.
3. Check the connection between the trimmer DC controller PCB (connec-

tor: J5) and the finisher; if needed, replace the harness.

4. Check the output of the power supply unit; as needed, replace it.
5. Replace the DC controller PCB.
