Main cause The holder motor fails to operate normally.
1. When it moves down, it does not reach the lower limit sensor within a
specific period of time, after the holder motor starts to rotate.
2. When it moves up, it does not reach the holder upper limit sensor within
a specific period of time, after the holder motor starts to rotate.
Method of
detection
1. When it moves from the start of drive to the lower limit, the holder lower
limit sensor does not go ON within a specific period of time (3 sec).
2. When it moves from the start of drive to the upper limit, the holder up-
per limit sensor does not go ON within a specific period of time (3 sec).
Action to
take
1. Turn off and on the trimmer (i.e., disconnect and connect the power
cable).
2. Turn off and on the host machine.
3. Execute 'holder motor test' in service mode to check the operation.
4. Check the contact between the trimmer drive PCB (connector: CN401)
and the trimmer DC controller PCB (connector: J1); if needed, replace
the harness.
5. Check the contact of the holder motor relay harness connected to the
trimmer drive PCB (connector: CN405); if needed, replace the harness.
6. Check the contact of the holder upper limit/lower limit sensor relay har-
ness connected to the trimmer drive PCB (connector: CN404); if needed,
replace the harness.
7. Check the contact of the front door open/closed microswitch MS2 and
the stacker door open/closed microswitch MS3/4; if needed, replace the
harness.
8. Adjust the position of the holder upper limit sensor (PS110) or the lower
sensor (PS111).
9. Replace the holder upper limit sensor (PS110) or the holder lower limit
sensor (PS111).
10. Replace the holder motor (M106).
11. Replace the trimmer drive PCB.
12. Replace the DC controller PCB.
