Jumper
Content
J60
Pin 1
J60
J60 is the Clear CMOS and Password jumper. Default configuration: jumper cap installed on pins 1
and 2.
NOTE:
Because the jumper cap is very small, it is not necessary-and could introduce an error-to re-
move the jumper cap in order to clear the CMOS settings.
Instead, clear the CMOS by denying power to the motherboard, as described.
■ Removing the motherboard
Before you remove the motherboard, you must remove:
• Chassis cover
• All boards installed on the motherboard
• All cables connected from other components to the motherboard (these include both motherboard power cables, chassis fan
cable, HDD data cable, 10-pin power button cables, and Service switchboard cable)
IMPORTANT:
Follow standard ESD precautions while handling the motherboard and all components. For details, see
.
During servicing the motherboard, avoid using excessive force and always place the motherboard on a grounded, non-
metallic, static-free surface.
Never allow any metal to touch the solder contacts on the underside of the motherboard, especially beneath the battery
socket. Improper handling can shortcircuit and permanently damage the motherboard.
● To remove motherboard components from the motherboard
1. Access and open the
imagePRESS Server
, as described in
“Accessing the imagePRESS Server” on page 18
.
2. Remove the printer interface board from the motherboard (see
“Remove the printer interface board” on page 21
3. Remove the following cables attached to the motherboard:
• Chassis fan cable
• Storage device cables
• SATA data cable
• Power supply cable
• 4-pin power cable
• Service switchboard cable
• 10-pin power button cable
For the location of each connector on the motherboard, see
“Motherboard parts and connectors” on page 26
.
● Remove the motherboard
IMPORTANT:
Follow standard ESD and other safety precautions when handling the motherboard. Do not touch the contacts and avoid
using excessive force. Place the motherboard on a grounded, antistatic surface.
NOTE:
This procedure assumes that you have removed the printer interface board and cables from the motherboard, as described in
remove motherboard components from the motherboard” on page 27
.
1. Remove all the mounting screws securing the motherboard to the chassis (for screw locations, see
parts and connectors” on page 26
).
To minimize tension on the motherboard, loosen all the screws partially before removing any one screw completely.
