Printing   55

❏

Deep Cleaning (Head Refreshing)

Use if you have tried the Cleaning option several times and there has 
been no improvement in printing results. Deep Cleaning will give the 
printhead an even deeper clean than Cleaning (Head Cleaning).
Click Deep Cleaning (Head Refreshing) and when the following 
dialog box appears, click OK. Do not perform another operation 
while the printhead is being cleaned.

Please note that Deep Cleaning will use even more ink than Cleaning.

Print Head Alignment

Align the printhead if the color is uneven or if streaks appear in the 
nozzle check pattern.

1.

Load paper in the machine.

2.

On the Windows desktop, click Start. 

3.

On the Start menu, point to Settings and then click Printers (in 

Windows XP, click Printers and Faxes). 

4.

In the Printers window (in Windows XP, the Printers and Faxes 

window), click the printer icon. 

5.

On the File menu, click Properties (Windows 98/Me) or Printing 

Preferences (Windows 2000/XP).

6.

In the Properties dialog box, on the Maintenance tab, click the 

printhead alignment icon.

7.

Click OK.
