1. FEATURES
1.1 Development Objective
The market for SVGA projectors is large compared to that for other models, and is of
major importance. However, drastic price cuts are affecting the entire market, and the
competitiveness of current models is declining.
In response, Canon decided to develop a new compact, low-price model. Employing its
original optical technologies, Canon has developed a micro-portable-class model
featuring compact and high brightness that will enable Canon to expand its market
share.
1.2 Product Overview
The LV-S3, the successor to the LV-S2, is an SVGA micro-portable-class projector.
Incorporating Canon's original optical box and first 0.5-inch liquid-crystal panels, this
B5-file size projector weighs just 2.2 kilograms (2% reduction in volume and 25%
reduction in weight). Moreover, this outstanding cost-performance projector features a
high brightness of 1,250 lumens.
