Replacing the Drum Unit

This section describes how to remove the drum cartridge and replace the drum unit with a new one.
When

WASTE TONER FULL

appears in the LCD, replace the drum unit.

The drum unit to be replaced is installed in the right side of this machine together with the developing assembly unit.

• Do not throw used drum units into open flames, as the toner remaining in the drum unit may ignite, and result in burns or a

fire.

• If you use the machine without inserting the drum cartridge,

CHECK TONER/DRUM CRG

appears in the LCD. In this case,

install the drum cartridge in the machine, unplug the power cord, wait for at least 10 seconds, then plug it again.

Place the box on a flat surface so that the arrows

on the box are pointing up

and open its upper side. Take the protective packaging, in which the drum unit
is stored, out of the box.

Place both top and bottom protective packaging as shown below. Cut the tape
and remove it form the protective packaging.
