THE FANTAIL 217 IS A CATEGORY D CRAFT
D : Sheltered water. Designed for voyages on sheltered coastal waters, small bays, small lakes, rivers and canals when conditions up
to, and including wind force 4 and significant wave heights up to, and including, 0,5m may be experienced, with occasional waves of
0,5m maximum height.
READ THE CAPACITY PLATE CAREFULLY
The maximum weight capacity is listed on the certification plate. This maximum weight includes all items added to the boat
(persons and gear). Also, proper distribution of weight is critical to the boat’s performance. Allocate the load as evenly as possible.
NEVER EXCEED THE MAXIMUM RECOMMENDED NUMBER OF PERSONS
as marked on the Capacity Plate. The Fantail 217 is approved by the Canadian and US Coast Guard for 8 to 10 adults. Make sure that
all the seats are properly in place before departure.
THE MAXIMUM LOAD CAPACITY OF THE FANTAIL 217 IS 818 KG OR 1,800 LBS
Never overload your boat. Make sure that the load is balanced inside the boat in order to keep stability.
MAXIMUM MOTOR POWER
The Fantail 217 has been designed and built for slow speed and environmentally friendly water displacements. The motor is a 4KW
or 5HP powered by 8 batteries. The motor should never exceed 10KW or 10HP.
ONLY THE COCKPIT IS DESIGNATED AS PART OF THE WORKING DECK
All other horizontal surfaces should not be stepped on while operating your Fantail 217 electric boat since they do not offer any
protection against falling overboard.
