4.3 024A MET ONE WIND DIRECTION
SENSOR
Mount the 024A sensor to the 019ALU
crossarm as shown in Figure 4.3-1.
1. Remove the hex-head screw located 3"
from the base of the sensor. Insert the
base of the sensor through the aluminum
bushing provided with the sensor. Align the
hole in the bushing with the hole in the
sensor and replace the screw.
2. Insert the base of the sensor through the 1"
NU-RAIL until the bushing screw rests on
the NU-RAIL. Orient the sensor so the
counter weight points south and tighten the
set screws (see Section 4.19 for final
calibration). Remove the shoulder screw to
allow the vane to rotate.
3. Connect the sensor lead to the sensor. A
small amount of lithium grease applied to
the threads of the connector will prevent
problems due to corrosion.

4.4 05103 AND 05305 RM YOUNG WIND
MONITORS
Mount the 05103 (or 05305) to the 019ALU
crossarm as shown in Figure 4.4-1.
1. Position the top of the mounting post 5"
above the 1" NU-RAIL and tighten the set
screws.
2. Slide the orientation ring and the 05103
onto the mounting post. Rotate the sensor
base so that the square wiring box points
south. Engage the key in the orientation
ring with the keyway on the sensor and
tighten the band clamps (see Section 4.19
for final calibration).
3. Remove the plastic nut on the propeller
shaft. Slide the propeller onto the shaft
(face the side with the lettering out) and
replace the nut.
