also recommended that you edit settings when
LoggerNet
is not automatically collecting or
scheduled to collect data from other CRVW3 devices on the same radio network or
communicating in other ways with those devices.
1. From the Main category of the
LoggerNet
toolbar click Setup
.
2. Collect data.
3. Choose the Settings Editor… option from the Datalogger menu. A Settings screen will
appear that works much like
Device Configuration Utility
. You can view settings for the
device and change them if necessary; review the caution statement before changing any
settings.
4. (Optionally) Use PakBusGraph to view and edit changes to device settings. Highlight the
device in the main PakBus screen and right-click on the device, then choose Edit Settings…
Make sure you have selected the correct PakBusPort in the PakBusNetwork dropdown (as
defined in Setup Screen) to view your CRVW3 devices.
5. Click Apply. After you apply changes to a CRVW3 device settings, the CRVW3 will reset
itself to begin measuring with the new settings.
6. Close the Settings screen, since it is no longer connected to the CRVW3. Allow up to 20
seconds to elapse before you can expect to communicate with the CRVW3 again. You may
need to reconnect to the device in Connect Screen.
CAUTION:
Risks are associated with changing the settings of a remote CRVW3 using the Settings screen.
It is possible to change the settings on the device in a way that causes it to stop
communicating with
LoggerNet
. At that point, a field visit is required to restore
communications between the device and
LoggerNet
. Consider each change carefully and
only apply it once you understand what impact it will have. Settings that relate to the
measurement process are usually safer to change than settings that relate to radio
communications.
10.2 CRVW3 on-site maintenance visits
It is a good idea to make periodic visits to deployed CRVW3 stations. Consider making a visit to
inspect each CRVW3 station after the winter season, particularly in climates where heavy cold-
weather precipitation occurs or where extreme temperatures occur. Heavy-rain events can also
affect the operation of a station in some cases.
