NOTE!
Replace the
bar
when:
- the depth of the groove is smaller than the height of the drive links (which must never touch the bottom);
- the internal wall of the groove is worn to a point that the chain tilts sideways;
- there are clear signs of wear, deformities or damage.
To prevent an asymmetrical wear of the bar, it must be periodically inverted with respect to the chain.
Perform the following operations to change the bar and/or chain:
1.
Turn off the tool with the ON / OFF button (9) and remove the battery pack (21) by pressing on the flaps (22).
2.
Unscrew the nut (3) all the way until you can remove the front casing (5).
3.
To loosen the chain (1), turn the adjusting screw (4) anticlockwise until it stops.
4.
Remove the bar (2) and the chain (1) to be replaced.
To assemble the new chain and/or bar, follow the procedure in paragraph 4.1.1.
IMPORTANT!
When the chain (1) is new, have it run at low speed for a few minutes before starting to cut, so that
the oil can reach all parts of chain (1) and bar (2).
The first cuts must be light, avoiding heavy pressure and making sure that there is plenty of oil. Make sure
that the chain, bar and pinion warm up completely and check the tension of the chain and adjust it if neces-
sary.
6.1.3 Check the chain pinion
Periodically check the pinion (12) for wear.
If signs of wear on the pinion exceed 0.5 mm (0.02 in.), replace the pinion.
Never use a chain with a worn pinion, especially if the chain is new.
Always mount a new chain on a new pinion.
IMPORTANT!
The chain pinion must be replaced in an authorised workshop
