SCREW HEAD EXTENSION ALIGNMENT
If necessary, the Extension Tab Ring (CM-002-03) can be used to realign the screw head extensions
after the connecting tab is removed. The Extension Tab Ring mates with the cuts on each screw
head extension and can be put on from either side of the screw head.
If the user needs assistance to remove the Extension Tab Ring, use the K-wire (CM-130-01) Gripper
(CM-102-02).
REMOVAL TECHNIQUES
PERCUTANEOUS REMOVAL
Reengage the rod with the Rod Inserter or a Rod Holder prior to loosening the construct. Use the same
technique as described in the Rod Insertion section (pg. 18) o lock the Rod Inserter to the rod.
Insert the External Counter Torque over each screw of the construct and remove each Locking Set
Screw using only the T30 Self-Retaining Screwdriver, ¼” QC. Then remove the External Counter Torque.
Once all Locking Set Screws are removed, remove the rod using the Rod Inserter.
The pedicle screws can be removed using the T25 Screwdriver W/Swivel Cap or the T25 MIS Polyaxial
Screwdriver, ¼” quick connect (CM-117-02).
OPEN REMOVAL
Remove the Locking Set Screws with the T30 Self-Retaining Screwdriver, ¼” QC. Once all Locking Set
Screws are removed, remove the rod. The pedicle screws can be removed using the T25 Screwdriver
W/Swivel Cap.
