BS.V .META Rev1_rid - Operating Instructions
7.5.3. Forced start
To avoid any mechanical blocks, if the pump is in
stand-by state for more than 24 hours, the pump
starts running for a minimum time of 5 seconds, and
then until the stop pressure UP01 has been reached.
A forced starting does not take place if the pump has
been manually turned OFF.
7.5.4. Forced stop
By the parameter AP03 it is possible to set a timer
that forces the pump to stop if it works for a prolonged
period.
In this way it is possible to avoid that the pump does
not stop when there is no water demand from the final
users.
AP03 is disabled by default but values from 5 to 60
minutes can be entered.
7.5.5. Enabling safe-start
Safe-start function prevent a peak of pressure in the
system pipework. The Safe-start function triggers
whenever a supply disconnection occurs.
To enable this function, it is necessary to set the
parameter AP04 with a value other than zero (default).
At every interruption of the voltage supply, when the
voltage supply is restored, the pressure value will
reach the 70% of the set-point value (UP01) for a time
defined by in the parameter AP04. After that time
the pressure assumes the set-point value as in normal
mode.
7.5.6. Operation with external tank”
We recommend installing an external tank of 8-24 liters
when:
- the pump works for prolonged periods at low flow rates
(2 liters / min or less), see paragraph. 8.6.
- Er05 or the TANK symbol
appears
For systems with external membrane tank it is
recommended setting AP05 = 1.
If pressure fluctuations are detected in the system
(intermittent operation) it is necessary to set AP05 = 1.
7.6. PASSWORD insertion
To enter on a menu with password, four numbers
appear on the display, the number to insert is blinking.
By pushing buttons (plus) or (minus) you can change
the blinking value. If you confirm with (enter) the next
number start blinking.
If the password is correct you can enter on the MENU, if
the password is wrong the first number restart blinking.
To exit the program, push (menu) until you arrive on
the basic display, when you are out from the set-up
mode the icon disappear.

8. STARTUP AND OPERATION
8.1. Commissionig
Correct commissioning will guarantee the longevity
of the set and ensure that is operates at optimum
efficiency.
water supply and all electrical connections made.
Most of the basic functions are pre-programmed at the
time of production but the most basic settings must be
checked. If modifications on the settings are required
refer to the MÈTA manual in this pack.
8.2. Vessel pressure
OFF
Before installation, check the status of the air cushion
load in the vessel.
Air preloaded pressure of the vessel must be of 0,5 bar
lower than the restart
(UP01 - UP02)
pressure value
(refer to the MÈTA manual in this pack).
8.3. First starting
OFF
After completing hydraulic and electrical connection
and checked the preloaded pressure (for booster set
with membrane tank), start the plant as indicated
below UP02 Pump restart pressure:
Prime the pumps (see the pumps’ instructions).
Booster sets with suction lift:
- Fill the suction pipe and the pump body by means
of the plug hole located close to the delivery port of
the pump.
- Fill the suction tube by pouring water through the plug
hole on the suction manifold of the pump.
Booster sets with positive suction head:
- Open the gate-valve in the suction pipeline. With
sufficient head, the water will overcome the resistance
of the non-return valve fitted in the suction side of the
pump and will fill the pump body. Otherwise, prime
the pump with the plug hole near the delivery port
and vent the suction pipe.
Never run the pump for more than five
minutes with a closed gate valve
Starting pumps
Press the button
(play) in all the frequency
converter, to change the pump status from STOP to
run.
If the booster set has been primed correctly, after a
few seconds the pressure will begin to increase on the
display.
If, after a few seconds of operation the pressure
remains at 0.0 bar, stop the booster set by selecting
(stop) in each frequency converter as priming
has not been carried out correctly and the pump is
idling. Re-prime the pumps and repeat the starting up
procedure.
8.4. Switch off of the pump
ON
The appliance must be switch off every time
there are faults.
The product is designed for a continuous duty, the
switch off is performed by disconnecting the power
supply by means the expected disconnecting devices
(see paragraph “6.5 Electrical connection”).
