10.2.3 Internal Fan Replacement
Step 1:
If not already done, open the rear cabinet doors and reset the intrusion alarm as
described in Section 3., Opening And Closing The Cabinet Doors, and Section 3.1,
Resetting The MESA® Intrusion Alarm
Step 1:
Disconnect power to both the fans within the Hx assembly. Verify that power is off
before proceeding.
Step 2:
Disconnect the power plugs from the fans.
Step 3:
Using 216-type tool, remove the four bolts from the corners of the fan access cover
and slide the Hx assembly out as shown in Fig. 38.
Step 4:
Using the 216-type tool, remove the four bolts holding the two fan mounting plates
to the fan access cover. See Fig. 39.
Step 5:
Set the hardware and fan access cover safely aside.
Step 6:
Using the 216-type tool, remove the fan from it’s mounting plate, as shown in
Fig. 40.
Step 7:
Handle the old fan according to local practices.
Step 8:
Install the replacement fan using the hardware removed previously.
Step 9:
Reinstall the two fan mounting plates to the fan access cover. See Fig. 39.
