Steam bubbles
Avoid braking permanently over prolonged periods, as can happen on long and
steep descents. Otherwise, steam bubbles can occur, potentially resulting in
total failure of the brake system and severe crashes and injuries.
Rotors are also subject to use-related wear. We recommend having the
thickness of the rotors measured after the brake pads were replaced three
times, and to replace the rotors in all cases once they reach the minimum
thickness. The minimum rotor thickness is marked on the rotor itself.
