8.2 Connecting to a PC
The SoundCam.exe application must be installed on your PC (see SoundCam as a PC application, p.
10).

Connect the PC via an Ethernet cable to the corresponding interface (8) on the switched-off
SoundCam (see Figure 4, p. 8).

Call up the "SoundCam.exe" application on the PC.

Start the SoundCam.
If the application cannot connect to the SoundCam, make sure that the communication is
not blocked in the firewall or by a virus scanner.
Now you can control all functions from the PC as described in the previous chapters.
Do not make any settings on the unit itself. The start menu must be selected in order to access the
SoundCam from the PC.
You cannot access the internal memory of the SoundCam from the application.
For remote access, the same software version should be installed on the SoundCam and on
your PC. This can be recognised by the identical version number. If there is a discrepancy, the
application indicates this in a dialogue window as soon as a TCP/IP connection is to be
established.

The following are steps to update the SoundCam software to the level required by the PC application.
