Another CSMIM2
When troubleshooting a CSMIM2 configured as a load server host:
•
Use the CLI telnet command to access the unit and verify that it is up
and running.
•
Communicate with the unit on the Ethernet using the superuser CLI
ping command.
•
Verify the unit’s configuration using na.
The CSMIM2 Network Administrator’s Guide provides more information
on these commands.
A CSMIM2 that has been reconfigured as a load server host, but not
rebooted, cannot boot another CSMIM2 on the network. Rebooting the
CSMIM2 load server host ensures that the parameters are set.
4.3.7
CSMIM2 Dumps
The CSMIM2 dumps its memory image to a host running load server
software when certain software or hardware events occur. Events that
trigger CSMIM2 dumps are:
•
Non-recoverable hardware or software errors.
•
Software fails to reset the CSMIM2’s watchdog timer.
•
Software fails one or more internal consistency checks.
•
Hardware detects an internal fault.
NOTE
Dump files are generated for use by technical support
personnel only.
