installation
start by removing the existing ir receiver module from the endpoint by
unplugging its 3.5mm jack plug. For MediaStar Compact 751 units, the built
in ir receiver may be currently used, so there may be no external ir receiver
jack plug to remove.
Insert the 3.5mm jack plug of the Wired Remote Control into the endpoint’s
jack socket.
as each key is pressed, the red light on the front of the Wired remote Control
will flash once. The MediaStar endpoint unit should respond in the same
manner as if the infra-red remote control is used. If it does not respond, then
the appropriate ir address mode should be programmed into the Wired remote
Control Unit, as described below.
Note:
when using the 514 with a MediaStar Pro 507 unit using V6 (or earlier)
software, use the INFO key instead of the NEXT key when prompted in the 507
on-screen menus (pressing OK on the 514 will have no effect).
PROGRAMMING THE IR ADDRESS
1. Unplug the Wired Remote Control 3.5mm jack plug from the endpoint
unit.
2. Press and hold down the Green and INFO buttons at the same time.
3. Plug the 3.5mm jack cable back into the endpoint unit with the buttons still
pressed down. The red LED will then be illuminated to indicate the unit is
in Programming Mode. Release the Green and INFO buttons.
4. The unit is now awaiting entry of the MediaStar endpoint type to operate
with:
• Press 1 for MediaStar Pro (507)
• Press 3 for MediaStar Evolution (760, 760/xM)
• Press 5 for MediaStar Compact (751)
5. Once a number key has been pressed, the LED will flash the
corresponding number of times to confirm selection of that IR Address.
6. The Wired Remote Control will then return to normal operation, with a
single LED flash each time a key is pressed.
