8.4 Replacing the emitter
The expected service life of the UV emitters is 10,000 - 14,000 opera-
ting hours.
The running time meter flashes as a reminder of an upcoming emitter
change when sum of the operating hours exceeds 10,000.
Replace all emitters at the same time if the unit has more than one
emitter.
If individual emitters malfunction prematurely, they must be replaced
with new emitters.
● Switch off the unit with the main switch.
●
Loosen the 2 screws of the blue protective cap (12).
●
Remove the protective cap and pull the plug (11) from the UV emitter.
●
Remove the UV emitter (10).
●
Insert and connect a new emitter. Make sure that the plugs (11) are
inserted properly.
●
Attach the blue protective cap again (12) and secure it with the
screws.

Only start up the unit with the black protective
gland nut on.

Never look into the open sensor socket whit-
hout integrated glow plug or sensor.

Wear personal protective equipment (protective
goggles).

The running time meter and activation counter on the UV Control II
must be reset when an emitter is changed (see UV Control II instal-
lation operating instructions).
●
The unit is now ready for use.
Proceed as follows if an emitter and/or casing tube is broken:
● Cut off power supply.
● Cut off water flow, relieve pressure on the unit and drain.
●
Clean up any existing mercury with a proper binding agent.
●
Carefully remove any residual glass with a vacuum cleaner. To do
this, remove the threaded joint (7) and put the vacuum tube through
the top to remove residual glass; dismantle the unit if necessary.
●
Check unit for other damages.
●
Replace faulty parts.
● Clean the unit and then thoroughly flush with water.
●
The unit is now ready for use.
