Getting The Sound You Want
Decrease the look-ahead limiter drive.
WE SUGGEST ONLY SMALL MODIFICATIONS FROM FACTORY PRESET SETTINGS IF YOU ARE
MODYFYING LOTS OF THE PARAMETERS. IF YOU ARE ADJUSTING ONLY A COUPLE FROM THE
ABOVE SUGGESTIONS THEN YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BIT MORE LEE-WAY. IT IS VERY EASY TO
LOSE YOUR WAY ONCE YOU START 'TWEAKING' LOTS OF DIFFERENT SETTINGS.
More BASS
We can obtain more bass in several ways
Bass Enhancement:
Increase the peaking filters gain. Listen carefully when adjusting because you can cause suck out of the mid
and upper bass by excessive low frequency boost.
Multi-band AGC:
Increase the drives to band 1 AGC.
Slow down the band 1 AGC attack time, letting more through to the limiters.
Speed up the band 1 AGC release time, making it faster.
Lower the band 1 Gate threshold, allowing more gain to be applied to low level bass waveforms.
Multi-band Limiters:
Increase the band 1 limiter drive.
Slow down the peak attack time for band 1, letting more through to the peak limiter.
Speed up the release time of the average release time constant.
Slow down the band 1 average attack time so that the peak time constant dominates the control signal pro-
viding faster control.
Peak limiter:
Decrease the look-ahead limiter drive.

More TREBLE (HF)
We can obtain more high frequency energy in several ways.
Multi-band AGC:
Increase the drives to band AGC.
Slow down the band AGC attack time, letting more through to the limiters.
Speed up the band AGC release time, making it faster.
Lower the band Gate threshold, allowing more gain to be applied to low level HF waveforms.
Consider 'force gating' the band AGC so the multi-band AGC for band is bypassed.
Multi-band Limiters:
Increase the band limiter drive .
Slow down the peak attack time for band 1, letting more through to the clippers.
Speed up the release time of the average release time constant.
Slow down the band average attack time so that the peak time constant dominates the control signal pro-
viding faster control.
Look-ahead limiter:
Decrease the look-ahead limiter drive.
