Lubrication
Proper lubrication at specified intervals will increase the
life of the Zero Turn Mower. Greasing more frequently
where conditions are extremely dusty or sandy is rec-
ommended.
Lubrication Points on the Zero Turn Mower
Power Unit
The Zero Turn Mower Power Unit has 6 grease point lo-
cations, 3 on the left side and 3 on the right side (Left Side
Shown, corresponding points are on the Right Side).
GREASE TYPE: No 2 Lithium or Molybdenum
1. Grease the Front Caster Pivots every 100 hours and
more frequently in dusty or sandy conditions.
2. Grease the Caster Wheels at the hubs (2 fittings on
each hub) every 50 Hours and more frequently in dusty
or sandy conditions.
Lubrication Points on the Zero Turn Mower
Deck
The Zero Turn Mower Deck has 4 grease points. 3 points
on the Blade Spindles and 1 on the Idler pivot
.
GREASE TYPE: No 2 Lithium or Molybdenum
1. 5 shots of grease every 50 hours at the Blade Spin-
dles.
2. 2 shots of grease every 50 hours in the Idler Pivot
tube and more frequently in dusty or sandy condi-
tions.
3. 5 shots of grease every 50 hours at the Pusher Bar-
connection.
Engine Maintenance
The Bush Hog Series HDZ Zero Turn Mowers are of-
fered with 2 different engine manufactures. Kawasaki
and Kohler. Maintenance procedures vary from each
manufacturer.
Operator / Maintenance manuals are available online
as a free download from each engine manufacturer.
Bush Hog recommends following the Engine manufac-
turers maintenance schedules for each manufacturer’s
engine model.
