MAINTENANCE
CLEANING
Clean the product after it has been used to ensure good hygiene
and avoid the risk of burning fat. Allow the product to cool and
wipe it all over before covering it.
• Wipe stainless steel parts with a cloth moistened with a mild
detergent after use.
• Do not use sharp or abrasive utensils or strong detergent.
• Remove accumulated fat from the inside of the product with
a wooden spatula.
Cleaning grill and warming racks
The grill rack should preferably be cleaned after use, but at least
after every third or fifth time, with a brass grill brush. Do not
use a wire brush. The racks can be taken out and washed with
water and detergent. Do not use sharp or abrasive utensils or
strong detergent. Apply a little cooking oil on the racks to provide
protection from corrosion.
Cleaning the drip tray
Wipe the drip tray with kitchen paper after use and wash with
water and detergent. Do not use sharp or abrasive utensils or
strong detergent. If there is another container under the drip tray,
clean this as well.
Cleaning burners
Clean dirty burners with a soft brush or blow clean with
compressed air. Use a pipe cleaner or wire brush to unblock holes.
Cleaning burners and pipes
Fresh air is drawn into the pipe by the inflowing gas and is led to
the burner where it burns.
1. Gas supply to burners
2. Burner pipes
3. Blockages in burners (cobwebs, etc.)
FIG. 20
It is not unusual for insects or spiders to build nests in the burners
or burner pipes. This can result in blockages that reduce the
flame, prevent the burner from lighting, or cause flash-back.
There will be a smell of gas as the gas does not go into the
burner. If gas leaks out on the front it can start to burn.
Removing the main burners
Remove the main burners as follows to clean or replace.
FIG. 21
Removing the side burners
Remove the side burners as follows to clean or replace.
FIG. 22
Removing blockages in burners or burner pipes
Shine a torch in the burner to see if it is blocked.
1. Stick a needle in the nozzle to remove the blockage.
2. Check that the blockage is removed with the torch.
3. Clean the burner pipe with a soft brush, for example a
toothbrush, to remove a blockage.
4. Check that all the connections to the burners are not
blocked. Clean them with a soft brush with brass bristles,
if necessary. Do not use a wire brush, this can cause
corrosion.
5. Never use burners with holes, cracks or other damage.
Replace damaged burners immediately.
6. Replace the burners after cleaning by following the above
steps in the reverse order. The product must be prepared
before using it again.
7. Prepare the product by applying a thin layer of heat
resistant cooking oil (rapeseed oil, sunflower seed oil, or the
equivalent) on the inside of the product.
8. Light a burner and adjust to a small flame.
9. Light another burner.
10. Wait 8 to 10 minutes and then fully turn up both flames on
the burners.
– Keep the product lit for about 25 minutes at the highest
temperature setting (about 300°C) without cooking, to
burn off any residue from the manufacturing.
11. Turn off the burners and allow the product to cool.
12. Remove all the residue.
– Cast iron and enamel grill racks can be prepared in the
same way.
