Optical smoke detectors such as this one
•
do not set off a heat alarm
(radiation, warm air, heat, etc.)
•
will not set off the alarm if air cannot
circulate unhindered through the measuring
chamber.
•
can also be triggered by other/foreign
particles which enter the measuring
chamber.
IMPORTANT NOTE: A person’s sense
of smell is not active when the person
is asleep!
This smoke alarm generates an acoustic signal
of >85dB(A) at a distance of 3 metres. Ensure
that the signal is sufficiently strong to be heard
in sleeping areas. The volume is lower the
further away the signal. It is also lower if there
are objects in the way or other factors (such
as walls, curtains, built-in insulation, etc). The
radio signal of the sensor is highly dependent
on environmental conditions. Metal objects,
concrete surfaces, walls, metallic wiring,etc.
can also reduce its range. The device can
also be impaired by other radio signals and
environmental influences. Find out about
the fire prevention regulations in force and
the rules for the use of smoke alarms (e.g.
Law EN14676 – “Installation, operation and
maintenance of smoke alarms for residences,
flats and rooms used as dwellings”).
