7. Operation
The control panel (1) is protected by an upward
tiltable, transpar-
ent cover against
contamination.
The grasp to open
the cover serves
at the same time
to start and stop
the timer.
7.1 Main Switch
The button on the
upper left of the
control
panel
switches the elec-
tric circuit for the
pump and the heating.
7.2 Heating
The switch down right on the control panel con-
trols the heating. A thermostat regulates the tem-
perature on 2 degrees exactly. When the temper-
ature reaches the preset temperature of 45° C
the lamp in the heating switch expires. As addi-
tional security against overheating the machine is
equipped with a not resetable temperature pro-
tection in the heater circuit.
7.3 Timer
The etching time is controlled by digitally ad-
justably and readable timer. You can set the timer
from 1 second up to 9 minutes 59 seconds and
operate it single handed. When the adjusted time
expires an acoustic signal sounds. The timer has
an LCD display and three buttons, which are
marked with MODE, - and +.
7.3.1 Adjusting the Etching Time
Pressing the keys + and - the etching time can be
preselected. This is indicated in the display. A
longer pressure on one of the keys causes a
faster change.
7.3.3 Start, Stop, Repetition
Pressing the MODE key the etching procedure is
started, the remaining time appears sequential in
the display. The etching procedure is interrupted,
if you press the MODE key. In both cases the
procedure can be continued for the remaining
time by pressing the MODE key or closing the
cover again. When the preset time runs out the
etching pump stops. A buzzer sounds in several
short intervals. The time stopped before is again
indicated by pressing once MODE. It can be
changed now alternatively. After a second press
of MODE the machine restarts. Important! The
timer is protected tiltable transparent cover. You
can start the machine indirectly by pressing the
cover when you had set an etching time before.
Nevertheless do not touch the timer with etching
agent dirty gloves!
7.4 Thermostat
The reset knob for the thermostats is located in
the case on the right and is preset on 45 degrees.
Only if you use an etching agent, which requires
compellingly
another temperature, you should
adjust this temperature. To do so you must re-
move the housing (loosen the head screws at the
front plate and in the back of the case, remove
silicone from joint with a knife. Do not forget to
seal the gab with silicone again).
7.5 Board carrier
The boards are fixed on a carrier that has one
fixed and one movable horizontal bar. To adjust
the setting of the movable bar, just loosen the
plastic screws and shift it into the desired direc-
tion.
Slide the carrier with the board(s) vertically into
the etching compartment. Lift the lid towards
yourself and drop it into a horizontal position.
The board carrier handle looks out of the etching
compartment. To remove the carrier, just pull the
handle upwards. The lid will open and slide back
as far that you can remove the carrier.
