1.3 Connections
The flue gas nozzle of the
B
4
can optionally be mounted
either at the top or rear of the stove body. The unused
flue gas conduit has to be closed with the provided cover.
1.3.1 Connection to a chimney
The connection to the chimney is to be carried out with appro-
priate connection material which can be obtained as an acces-
sory. Please use the support of your Bullerjan-authorized
dealer or your
chimney sweep when connecting your wood
stove. The diameter of the connection nozzle is 150 mm.
The connecting piece between the stove and exhaust system
should be as short as possible, straight and laid ascendingly.
At least one cleaning opening should be available for the
purpose of cleaning the connecting pipes.
The combustion chamber, all air supply channels in the
combustion chamber as well as the connecting pieces to the
chimney must be cleaned in the event of soiling, but at least
once during and after the heating season. For this work we
recommend the use of a commercially available ash
vacuum cleaner.
1.3.2
Required characteristics of the chimney
The Bullerjan
B
4
stoves require their own chimney.
Whether the multiple use of a chimney in your personal hous
-
ing situation is reasonable and possible, has to be clarified
with your master chimney sweep. In the case of the concurrent
operation of several fireplaces, account has to be taken of the
special ventilation requirements, among others; an adequate
fresh air supply has to be ensured.
The Bullerjan
B
4
is equipped with an automatically closing
combustion chamber door and can, with an appropriate
certificate, be operated with external air supply only (EAS). The
fire technical calculation is to be made pursuant to EN 13384
using the value triple given in the table below.
Draught of the chimney
Insufficient draught of the chimney:
Regardless of the
results, which a chimney calculation program calculates
after entering the presented values, it has to be verified that
the chimney in the cold state has a basic draught/under
pressure of at least 5 Pa. In the case of insufficient basic
draught, flue gas can be discharged into the installation
room, during the ignition phase.
Excessive draught of the chimney:
The maximum draught
(negative pressure) that the chimney exhibits during the heat
-ing operation, must not exceed 16 Pa. If the draught is too
high, the wood burns much too quickly and too hot, and the
stove can not unfold its heating and environmental qualities.
In addition, a significantly too high chimney draught can lead
to damages of the wood stove. In extreme cases ash could
be sucked into the catalyst and clog it. This could lead to a
malfunction of the wood stove and a possibly leak of flue gas
in the installation room.
Insofar as your chimney develops excessive draught, an easy
to install, mechanical draught regulator for the chimney can
already provide an efficient remedy for excess draught.
Please
consult your chimney sweep.
The Bullerjan GmbH can only warrant the operational reliability
and the stated thermal performance of the
B

, insofar as
sufficient fire technical dimensioning of the chimney is
confirmed by calculation according to EN 13384.

Cleaning of the chimney:
The chimney must be regularly
cleaned, by the master chimney sweep. This is normally
done once a year.
